29 September 2008 - The CAT delivered its judgement on the appeals. It dismissed Sky’s challenges on material influence, SLC and remedies. It also dismissed Virgin Media’s challenge on remedies. The CAT allowed Virgin Media’s challenge in relation to the interpretation of aspects of the public interest test. Accordingly it held that the CC’s conclusions on the media public interest and the Secretary of State’s corresponding decisions should be set aside. 22 and 26 February 2008 - BSkyB and Virgin Media, respectively, lodged with the Competition Appeals Tribunal (CAT) Notices of Application to appeal against the CC’s report and the Secretary of State’s decisions.
29 January 2008 – The Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform today published on the BERR website his decisions on British Sky Broadcasting Group plc’s acquisition of a 17.9 per cent shareholding in ITV plc. A copy of the decisions can be accessed below.

14 December 2007 - The Competition Commission today sent to the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) its report on the acquisition by British Sky Broadcasting Group plc of 17.9% of the shares in ITV plc. The Secretary of State now has 30 working days to consider the report before making his decision. He has discretion as to when he may publish the report within this period.
