The Economists provide advice and analysis to the members of the CC on the operation of markets and competition within them.

Biography

Robin Finer joined the CC in 2007 and has worked on a number of inquiries across a range of sectors. Previously, he was a Director in the Markets and Projects area of the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), where he led market studies and Competition Act 1998 investigations. Prior to this he worked as an economist on a wide range of OFT merger and antitrust investigations across many sectors, including a spell in the Chief Economist’s team. He has also worked in the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission in Brussels.
