Biography
Dr Walter Beckert is an academic economist at Birkbeck College, University of London. He earned his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, and subsequently taught at the University of Florida. He is also a research associate at the Institute of Fiscal Studies and the Centre for Mircodata Methods and Practice (cemmap). His research focuses on theoretical and applied Econometrics and Applied Micro-economics. He has published in various academic journals, like the Review of Economic Studies and the Review of Economics and Statistics. He has advised the CC since September 2002. He is also a member of the Economics Council of Oxera Consulting Ltd.
