Biography

Dame Patricia Hodgson DBE was appointed non-executive Council member in 2004. She is Principal of Newnham College, Cambridge, a non-executive Director of Ofcom and Ofcom Deputy Chair designate (from January 2012). She is also a member of the Higher Education Funding Council for England.

She was formerly a member of the BBC Trust, Governor of the Wellcome Trust and member of the Committee for Standards in Public Life. She has worked previously as both a producer and journalist. Past work includes: BBC main board Director, Policy & Planning, Chief Executive of the Independent Television Commission, Chair of the Higher Education Regulation Review Group and non-executive director of GCap Media plc.
