8 February 2010 - BSkyB announced it had placed a shareholding of approximately 10.4 per cent in ITV with Morgan Stanley Securities Ltd, retaining “its residual 7.5 per cent investment in ITV for the medium term”.
8 February 2010 - The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills accepted final undertakings from BSkyB to implement the remedies announced on 29 January 2008.
21 January 2010 - The Court of Appeal delivered its judgment on the appeal. It dismissed BSkyB’s challenge and the CC’s original conclusion on plurality was upheld. 29 September 2008 - The CAT delivered its judgement on the appeals. It dismissed Sky’s challenges on material influence, SLC and remedies. It also dismissed Virgin Media’s challenge on remedies. The CAT allowed Virgin Media’s challenge in relation to the interpretation of aspects of the public interest test. Accordingly it held that the CC’s conclusions on the media public interest and the Secretary of State’s corresponding decisions should be set aside. 22 and 26 February 2008 - BSkyB and Virgin Media, respectively, lodged with the Competition Appeals Tribunal (CAT) Notices of Application to appeal against the CC’s report and the Secretary of State’s decisions.

14 December 2007 - The Competition Commission today sent to the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) its report on the acquisition by British Sky Broadcasting Group plc of 17.9% of the shares in ITV plc. The Secretary of State now has 30 working days to consider the report before making his decision. He has discretion as to when he may publish the report within this period.
