Alexander Johnston (appointed in 2005) was until 2003 a Managing Director at Lazard, London, where he worked in corporate and project finance, mainly in electricity, rail and utility industries, both in the UK and in Europe. He is an External Member of the Finance Committee of Cambridge University, Chairman of North West Cambridge a property development of Cambridge University and Senior Adviser to Lilja & Co AG a Swiss financial advisory firm. He was also Chairman of BMS Associates Limited, a reinsurance broker.
