Mr Peter Freeman
Peter
Freeman was appointed Chairman in 2006, having been a member since
May 2003 and a Deputy Chairman since September 2003. Prior to joining
the CC, he was head of the EC and Competition Law Group of the
international law firm Simmons & Simmons. He was co-founder
of and, until 2007, Chairman of the Regulatory Policy Institute,
is a Consulting Editor of Butterworths’ Competition Law,
and is a member of the Advisory Boards of the Competition Law Journal
the International Competition Law Forum and the ESRC Research Centre
for Competition Policy. Recent cases include the Domestic Bulk
Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Home Credit, and Groceries market investigations;
and the Tesco/Co-op Store Acquisition in Slough and BSkyB/ITV merger
inquiries.
