Sir John Vickers is Chairman
of the Office of Fair Trading. He began his five-year
term at the OFT in October 2000. Before that he spent
two and a half years as Chief Economist at the Bank
of England and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee.
Sir John is on leave from the Drummond Professorship
of Political Economy at Oxford University. He has written
widely on economic topics, including privatization,
regulation and competition.
